I work with individuals and families on a variety of issues.  That said, my practice tends to focus on the perinatal period and parenthood, so the information that follows, is primarily focused on that demographic.  If you are not a parent (or not planning to become a parent) and still want to work with me, I have a long history of supporting teens and adults in their psychotherapeutic work and would be happy to talk with you about working together.  Please feel free to contact me to discuss our work further.

Whether you are pregnant for the first time, newly postpartum, or a seasoned parent I want you to embrace the notion that you literally have the ability to change the future...

Being a parent is an incredible experience, but it can also be a very challenging emotional and logistical time.  It is therefore one of the most important times in life to get additional support. I love working with families from pre-conception to empty nesting, helping them embrace the realities of parenthood and free up stuck patterns or dynamics from their past.

As you work through and heal your emotional baggage and present-day relationship or familial issues, you free up more energy to attune with your baby or child(ren).  This can ultimately help your child have an easier journey in life, which makes counseling before, during, and after having children one of the best things you can do for yourself and your child(ren)!

I offer parents support with:

  • Exploring your own birth and early childhood experiences, which may be holding you back as an individual, partner, or parent

  • Examining issues with your family of origin (parents, siblings, grandparents) that often become heightened during pregnancy and parenthood

  • Addressing fears you have about becoming a parent

  • Exploring previous trauma or abuse, and how this may affect your pregnancy, birth, and parenting experience

  • Strengthening your partnership, so you can be more present with your child

  • Working through a difficult or traumatic birth experience

  • Resolving stuck or recurrent issues in your life, career, or relationship

  • Working with teens who are having difficulties at home or in school

  • Adjusting to new phases in parenthood, such as the addition of a subsequent child, adolescence, or children leaving the home

  • Supporting parents raising prenatally substance exposed children, children with a history of trauma, and foster and adoptive families

  • Other topics related to the journey of pregnancy, birth, and parenthood

Due to COVID-19, my psychotherapy sessions are currently via telehealth.  In the future, my psychotherapy sessions will take place at my office in Kirkland, at the Salveo Center in Redmond, or via telehealth.  My rate for a one-hour psychotherapy session is $130, and I am in-network with certain insurance companies (please inquire for current information). I also offer a sliding-scale for clients who otherwise would not be able to work with me.  Please contact me for additional information.
