Psychotherapy
I work with individuals and families on a variety of therapeutic issues. My practice tends to focus on the perinatal period and parenthood, so the following information reflects that. If you are not a parent (and/or not planning to be a parent) and still want to work with me, I have a long history of supporting teens and adults in their psychotherapeutic work and would be happy to talk with you about working together. Please feel free to contact me to discuss further.
Whether you are pregnant for the first time, newly postpartum, or a seasoned parent I want you to embrace the notion that you literally have the ability to change the future...
Being a parent is an incredible experience, but it can also be a very challenging emotional and logistical time. It is therefore one of the most important times in life to get additional support. I love working with families from pre-conception to empty nesting, helping them embrace the realities of parenthood and free up stuck patterns and dynamics from their past.
As you work through and heal your historical and present-day relationship and familial issues, you free up more energy for yourself and your child(ren). This can ultimately help you repattern issues from your past and help your child have an easier journey in life, and is why counseling before and after having children is one of the best things you can do for yourself and your child(ren)!
I offer parents support around:
-
Exploring your own birth and early childhood experiences, which may be holding you back as an individual, partner, or parent
-
Examining issues with your family of origin (parents, siblings, etc.) that often become heightened during pregnancy and parenthood
-
Addressing fears you have about becoming a parent
-
Exploring previous trauma or abuse, and how this may affect your pregnancy, birth, and parenting experience
-
Strengthening your partnership, so you can be more present with your child
-
Working through a difficult or traumatic birth experience
-
Resolving stuck or recurrent issues in your life, career, or relationship
-
Adjusting to new phases of parenthood, such as the addition of a subsequent child, adolescence, or children leaving the home
-
Supporting parents raising children with a history of trauma, including children who were prenatally substance exposed and/or spent their early weeks/months in the NICU and/or are in foster care or have been adopted
-
Other topics related to the journey of pregnancy, birth, and parenthood
If you would like more information on my psychotherapy services or have a specific issue you would like to address that you do not see listed here, please feel free to contact me.
Please note: My psychotherapy sessions are still primarily virtual, but I am starting to see some clients at my office in Kirkland, WA.
Rates & Insurance
My rate for a one-hour psychotherapy session is $140. I offer a sliding-scale for clients who do not have mental health insurance benefits or otherwise would not be able to work with me.
I am currently in-network with multiple insurance companies, including Aetna, Premera, Regence, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Amerigroup, Ambetter, UHC, and Molina. If you plan to utilize insurance for our work together, I recommend you verify with your insurance company that you have mental health benefits and whether I am in-network. If I am out-of-network with your insurance company or you have an HSA/FSA, payment will be expected at the time of your session and I am happy to provide you with a superbill to submit for reimbursement.
Please contact me for additional information about my rates and insurance.
